Convicted sex offender remanded after failing to notify change of address in Fermanagh
A 30-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being found in County Fermanagh in breach of his sex offender registration requirements.
Fintan Michael Duddleston, of no fixed abode, appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court charged with failing to notify police of a change of address. The alleged breach occurred on July 23.
Duddleston had been placed on the sex offenders register following convictions for sexual offences in England earlier this year. He is originally from Plymouth and was convicted at Portsmouth Magistrates Court in June.
A defence barrister indicated that representations would be made to the Public Prosecution Service regarding a possible alternative disposal. Police are still awaiting further details of the English conviction that led to the registration requirement.
No application for bail was made as a suitable release address has not been identified. District Judge Francis Rafferty remanded Duddleston in custody to appear again by video-link on August 5.
