Man Arrested After Serious Assault in West Belfast
A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after an assault in the Falls Road area of west Belfast left another man seriously injured.
Police were called at approximately 2.15am on Sunday 7 June after a man was found with a head wound consistent with an assault. Officers and paramedics from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene.
The ambulance service had received a 999 call at 2.14am and dispatched one emergency crew. The injured man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, where his condition was described as serious.
The arrested man remains in police custody. Detectives are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or other footage to come forward.
