Causeway Coast and Glens Council Approves £12.3 Million Leisure and Development Budget
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council approved its Leisure and Development Business Plans for 2026/27 at a full council meeting on 2 June 2026.
The plans cover the period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 and set out priorities across five service areas.
A total of £12.3 million has been allocated to support service delivery, economic growth, and community wellbeing across the borough.
Councillor Huggins, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, said the plans focus on delivering outcomes for residents, businesses, and communities.
The mayor stated the programme aims to support economic growth, job creation, health, wellbeing, tourism, and culture while ensuring opportunities are accessible to everyone.
Alderman Sandra Hunter was appointed Deputy Mayor at the same meeting, marking the first time both the mayor and deputy mayor positions are held by women.
Alderman Hunter said she accepts the role with humility and a commitment to serve all within the borough.
