Tourism Northern Ireland has increased its funding for Féile an Phobail by 13 per cent for 2026.

The festival runs from 24 July to 9 August and will include more than 600 events at 50 venues in west Belfast and elsewhere in the city.

The funding forms part of the International Tourism Events Fund 2026-27, one of 16 events supported under the scheme.

Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald said the support recognises the festival's role in the cultural calendar and as a driver of tourism and economic activity.

Siobhan McGuigan, Head of Events at Tourism Northern Ireland, said the organisation is pleased to support the event as part of the summer programme.

Kevin Gamble, Director of Féile an Phobail, said the investment will help the festival grow and attract visitors from Ireland, Britain and further afield.

West Belfast MP Paul Maskey said the funding recognises the role the event plays in attracting visitors to Belfast each August and that local businesses can expect an economic boost.
