The building housing BBC Radio Foyle studios on Northland Road in Londonderry has been listed for sale at a guide price of £475,000. BBC Northern Ireland leases the property, currently handled by the agency O'Connor Kennedy Turtle.

BBC NI staff at Radio Foyle learned of the sale after a for sale sign appeared outside the studios on Friday afternoon. The corporation's lease runs until at least September 2029. BBC NI stated that work will continue unaffected by any ownership change.

A BBC spokesperson affirmed the commitment to maintaining Foyle as a production and broadcast hub. The property listing notes potential for alternative uses or redevelopment, such as residential or mixed-use, pending necessary consents.

In April 2023, BBC Radio Foyle replaced its two-hour Breakfast Show, aired for over a decade, with a 30-minute news programme called North West Today. The final Breakfast Show broadcast on 23 April 2023. The morning programme extended to one hour each weekday from 08:00 to 09:00 in early 2024.

These changes followed BBC Northern Ireland's announcement of schedule adjustments for Radio Foyle and Radio Ulster nearly four years ago. Ofcom found that the cuts, totaling about 300 hours of news and current affairs on Radio Foyle, breached the corporation's operating licence. Ofcom later approved the changes after BBC NI applied to amend its licence.
