Down and Antrim will play twice over the next six weeks. The first match is this Friday in the Armagh City Hotel Ulster senior camogie final. The second is on 20 June in the last group game of the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate Championship.

The teams could meet again in July or August at Croke Park in later All-Ireland stages. Both teams have identical season records so far. Each won one league game in February. Those wins were against stronger opponents but led to relegation to lower divisions next season.

Antrim won its league game in Division 1A in Cork. Down won its in Division 1B at Fontenoy Park against Dublin. Both advanced through Ulster semi-finals on the last weekend of April against lower-division teams.

Antrim changed its lineup for the semi-final win over Derry. Becky Ellis replaced Catriona Graham in goal. Caoimhe McNaughton and Caoimhe Conlon started in the fullback line for the first time this season after injury recoveries. Nine players from Antrim's All-Ireland Intermediate final team five years ago started that match.

Scoring has relied on free takers. Nicole McAtamney has been accurate for Antrim. Aimee McAleenan scored seven or eight points per league game for Down. In Down's recent semi-final against Armagh, Gerra McGrattan scored 1-4 from play. Dearbhla Coleman added three points.

Antrim seeks a third straight provincial title. Down won the title in 2023 at Rossa Park in Belfast by 0-15 to 0-9. Only five players from that Down team started the recent semi-final.
