Co Antrim Crash Leaves Boy in Critical Condition, Family Mourns Third Loss
A 10-year-old boy remains in critical condition after a car crash in Co Antrim on Sunday morning. The collision took place on Belfast Road and involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a silver Volkswagen Passat. Christopher Faulkner was rushed to hospital following the incident.
A 16-year-old passenger in the Passat, Callum Hutchinson from Co Tipperary, died in the crash.
Olive Faulkner, Christopher's aunt, requested prayers for her nephew on social media Tuesday. She noted he underwent a CT scan and an MRI scan that morning.
This marks the third death in the Faulkner family recently. Christopher's cousin Scarlett Faulkner died after a roadside assault in Co Tipperary in March. Her brother Jason Faulkner died two days after her funeral earlier this month.
A 16-year-old girl faces charges related to Scarlett Faulkner's assault on March 21 at R494 Birdhill in Co Tipperary. The girl appeared via video-link from a youth detention centre before Nenagh District Court last Thursday. The court ordered a psychological evaluation for her. A 40-year-old woman also faces charges in connection with the assault. Both remain in custody.
Two men, one in his late 40s and one in his late teens, were arrested by gardai Tuesday morning over the Tipperary assault.
