Belfast will host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann from 2 to 9 August 2026. The event marks the first time the festival comes to the city.

Belfast City Council and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann organize the festival. It features traditional music, song, and dance. Multi-cultural performances and cross-community collaborations form part of the programme.

The main stage stands in Belfast City Hall grounds. Concerts, workshops, and talks occur at city-centre and neighbourhood venues. Free live performances and ticketed events make up the schedule.

Noirin McKinney, Director of Arts Development at Arts Council of Northern Ireland, welcomed the festival. She described it as a chance for Northern Ireland to display talent, culture, and diversity. McKinney noted it will attract visitors and award-winning artists. She urged participation in family activities, professional performances, or volunteering.

Ludo Dao CIC runs an intercultural programme for musicians from across Ireland as part of the festival.
