The Education Authority told parents and guardians that transport and services should run normally but to allow extra time for journeys due to possible delays or diversions to school transport.
PSNI Chief Superintendent Norman Haslett stated preparations are underway for a policing response to ensure public safety and minimise disruption. He noted police will use an approach of engage, explain, encourage, and enforce if needed. Organisers of vehicle processions must follow the Public Processions (NI) Act 1998 and Parades Commission code.
EasyJet warned passengers to allow extra time for road travel to Belfast International Airport as protests may cause traffic delays or diversions.
Previous protests occurred on Tuesday April 14 with slow-moving convoys of tractors and vehicles in Belfast, along the A1 past Hillsborough in Co Down, at Ballygawley roundabout, in Omagh in Co Tyrone, and at Nutts Corner in Antrim. A convoy of tractors blocked the Sydenham bypass near Belfast City Airport.
Police issued nine fixed penalty notices during the April 14 events. Slow vehicles circled the Nutts Corner roundabout for 30 minutes before police directed them away.
