Fermanagh Fishing Classic Draws 228 Anglers for 49th Edition
The 49th Fermanagh Fishing Classic starts soon on Fermanagh shores. Entries closed with 228 participants registered. Competitors come from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain and Germany.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council organises the event with DAERA Inland Fisheries, angling representative Tony Green and Erne Anglers. Tackle Guru supports promotion on digital and social media platforms. Enniskillen BID coordinates evening entertainment to draw visitors into the town centre.
Entertainment and offers for competitors run Monday to Thursday at Pat’s Bar, Charlie’s Bar, Crowe’s Nest and TJ Ryan’s. The festival ends with a closing event at the Westville Hotel on Friday, May 1.
Councillor Barry McElduff, chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, stated the council welcomes anglers from across Ireland and beyond. He noted the event highlights the district’s waterways, landscapes and hospitality. McElduff said it boosts the local economy by attracting visitors to towns and villages.
