Fergal Meenagh, 46, from Loughmacrory in Tyrone, plans to run the London Marathon on April 26. He aims to raise funds for Parkinson's UK and Marie Curie in memory of his mother Rosemary, who died in November 2023.

Meenagh began running after receiving cancer treatment. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2015 and got clearance in 2016. He has since run the Dublin Marathon multiple times and first raised money for the Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund in Carrickmore.

Rosemary Meenagh received a Parkinson's diagnosis in 2013. Her health declined from 2020. She broke her hip in a 2022 fall and became bed-bound.

Parkinson's UK offered support to Rosemary and her husband through its Omagh group. Marie Curie provided home care during her final days.

Donations for Meenagh's run appear on GoFundMe under a search for Rosemary Meenagh.
