Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has received a planning application for a rage room business in Gortin, Tyrone. The proposed venture would occupy a vacant commercial building behind Mossey’s Bar.

Customers would smash items like glass, televisions and furniture in a safe space to relieve stress. Only adults could participate, wearing safety equipment under staff supervision.

Operations would run from 11am to 7pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays via pre-bookings. Sessions would limit to four customers each, with a maximum of eight per day at launch and no overlapping groups.

The sole building change involves acoustic measures in a room-within-a-room setup. Planners state noise would remain inaudible at nearby homes.

The application positions the business as a complement to Gortin’s tourism, including Gortin Glens walks and local recreation. It aims to enhance short-stay visitor options alongside hiking, cafes and lodging.

Council planning officials will review the submission before deciding.
