Accountancy firm submits plans to move Omagh offices
A planning application has been lodged with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to convert a Beltany Road property into dedicated offices for a local accountancy practice.
Watson and Colhoun Accountants, a chartered firm based for the past 14 years at the Omagh Enterprise Centre in Gortrush, is behind the proposal. The practice says it has outgrown its current shared accommodation and needs independent premises to safeguard client confidentiality and support future growth.
Documents submitted as part of the application state that the nature of the services provided means the open common areas, shared receptions and high footfall of the enterprise centre increasingly fall short of professional requirements.
The firm has identified the Rocklow property on the Beltany Road for acquisition and conversion. No external alterations are proposed. The site is described as highly accessible, with strong road links to Omagh town centre and the wider network.
The planning statement says the move represents a commitment to the area and a private-sector investment that will allow the practice to take on additional staff. It adds that securing permanent independent premises would bring wider economic benefits to Omagh.
A decision on the application has yet to be made.
