Construction of a new play park at Owenkillew Community Centre in Gortin will start shortly. The facility receives funding from PEACEPLUS and match funding from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

The play park aims to offer spaces for play, recreation, and community events. It supports physical activity and social interaction among residents.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Cllr McElduff, who chairs the council, stated the project will unite Gortin residents. He described it as a key investment in inclusive play areas that foster healthier living and community ties. The space will serve families for years.

Cllr Thompson, chair of the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Partnership, noted the redevelopment shows how local collaboration builds inclusive areas that strengthen community relations across the district.

The initiative belongs to the Outdoor Recreational Capital Programme. This programme develops accessible community spaces.
