Fairport Convention will perform at Derry's Guildhall on Saturday, April 18, 2026, as part of their Spring 2026 tour. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

The current lineup includes founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass and vocals, Ric Sanders on violin, and Chris Leslie on bouzouki, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and vocals. This group has played together for about 30 years.

Dave Pegg joined the band in late 1969. The group toured Northern Ireland in 1970, including a Belfast show supported by the McPeake family. Pegg visited Francie McPeake's house for breakfast after that gig.

The set will feature Fairport favourites such as 'Matty Groves' and 'Meet on the Ledge'. The band will also play 'John Condon', a ballad about an Irish soldier killed at Ypres in World War One, written by Sam Starrett of Drumahoe, Tracey McCrory of Dunree, and Richard Laird.

Pegg described the band's audience connection as like a family. He noted that Chris Leslie writes songs and plays multiple instruments including fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, whistle, and harmonica.

Tickets are available online.
