Orange Order events across Northern Ireland are expected to draw large crowds on Monday after the Twelfth of July fell on a Sunday.

Two major demonstrations will take place in County Tyrone. Killen District LOL No 12 will host the West Tyrone gathering in Castlederg, while Annahoe District LOL No 6 organises the Clogher Valley event in Aughnacloy.

The Castlederg parade will leave the Assembly Field off Strabane Road at 12.30pm. Six districts – Sixmilecross, Omagh, Killen, Fintona, Strabane and Newtownstewart – will participate, led by Sixmilecross District LOL No 7 and Brackey Flute Band. The route follows Strabane Road, Upper Strabane Road, John Street and Main Street, reaching the demonstration field on Castlegore Road at around 2pm.

Platform proceedings begin at 2.30pm. Deputy Grand Master Derek Reaney will deliver the main address. Grand Chaplain of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland, Rev Jason Lingiah, will also attend. Family entertainment, including a Highland dance display, will be held before the return parade sets off at 4.30pm.

The event marks several local milestones: the 70th anniversary of Aghyaran Accordion Band, the 80th anniversary of Kilclean Pipe Band, and recent award successes for Kirlish Chosen Few LOL 380 and Blossomhill JLOL 250.

In Aughnacloy, the Clogher Valley demonstration will feature 25 lodges and bands, two junior lodges, the Association of Loyal Orangewomen of Ireland and visiting brethren from County Monaghan. Fivemiletown District LOL No 15 leads the procession from the Assembly Field on Tullyvar Road at 12.30pm, travelling through Moore Street and Dungannon Road to the field on Carnteel Road.

A religious service conducted by Rev Roger McElnea, accompanied by Bawn Silver Band, will begin platform proceedings at 2pm. The return parade starts at 3.30pm.
