Pat McGinn plans a fundraising bucket collection at the Camlough village roundabout this Easter Saturday. He leads a team of helpers for the event in support of Evora Hospice, formerly known as the Southern Area Hospice.

McGinn took up running and cycling to raise money for charities after recovering from cancer and sepsis following surgery. He completed his first marathon at age 60. Now in his late sixties, he continues endurance activities including marathons, half marathons, and long-distance cycles.

Evora Hospice provides free services to patients with complex life-limiting conditions and their families across the Southern Trust area. This covers locations from Kilkeel to Ballygawley and from Crossmaglen to Portadown. The hospice cares for nearly 1,000 patients each year.

Over 80% of the hospice's income goes directly to patient care. It depends on donations from local communities and more than 250 volunteers.
