Evora Hospice has launched its Big Bucket Collection 2026, a flagship fundraising campaign scheduled for Friday, March 20, in the Newry area. The event supports the hospice's specialist palliative and end-of-life care services.

Volunteers aged 16 and over are invited to participate for one or two hours. The collection aims to sustain care provided in homes, wellbeing centres, and inpatient facilities for nearly 1,000 patients annually.

Rosie, a hospice worker, described her experience after her childhood friend received hospice care for a life-limiting condition. She stated that the care had a profound impact and noted the hospice's support for patients, families, and carers.

Siobhan McArdle, the hospice's fundraising manager, said volunteers' contributions enable support during difficult times. Information on volunteering is available at www.evorahospice.org/big-bucket/ or by calling 028 3026 7711.
