Students in the Harper Ireland society at Harper Adams University received awards at their annual dinner. Richard Beattie, President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster and a university alumnus from Dunloy in Co. Antrim, attended as guest of honour.

Beattie stated that members of the society will contribute to agriculture's development. He studied agriculture at the university and received the RABDF Dairy Student of the Year award in 2017.

Liam McKenna, a Veterinary Medicine student from Augher in Co. Tyrone, won the Vice President's Award. He will serve as the society's chairman for 2026/7. McKenna plans to maintain traditions, involve new members, and support society growth.

John-Mark McCrea, the outgoing chairman and a Veterinary Medicine student from Stewartstown in Co. Tyrone, organised farm tours, social events, and a ball during his term. His committee focused on welcoming new students from Ireland.

Stephanie Jones, a final-year BSc Veterinary Bioscience student from Enniskillen in Co. Fermanagh, received the President’s Award for contributions to the university and student community. The award was presented later in person.

Isabel McDowell, a final-year BSc Agriculture with Animal Science student from Seskinore in Co. Tyrone, won the John Thompson & Sons Victor Truesdale Prize. The award includes a crystal punch bowl and cheque for the Irish student with the greatest contribution to university life. Edwin Truesdale presented it.
