The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Enniskillen Campus held an Equine Open Day that drew prospective students and their families.

Staff and student ambassadors greeted arrivals. Programme Managers Alison Morris and Shelley Stuart led introductory sessions on course options, entry requirements and attendee questions.

A campus tour covered accommodation, teaching areas, laboratories and the rider performance hub. Visitors watched flatwork lessons, racehorses on gallops and farriery demonstrations outdoors.

The tour ended at the Breeding Unit, where staff showed integration of science, technology and business management for equine careers.

Jane Elliott, Head of Equine at Enniskillen Campus, stated that CAFRE supports students through their education, equipping them with qualifications, experience and confidence for roles in yards, training, sales, marketing or entrepreneurship. She noted that open day attendees gain information on courses, see facilities and prepare to apply.

Shelley Stuart said the campus welcomes potential applicants each year. She added that courses mix practical experience, academic learning and professional development, with specialist facilities building industry-valued skills.

Student Ambassador Erin Reid described welcoming visitors and sharing her positive experiences with campus facilities and staff.

The event wrapped up with talks from Residential Support, Student Support and Student Finance representatives on available assistance.
