CAFRE Enniskillen Campus Hosts Equine Open Day
The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) at Enniskillen Campus held an Equine Open Day. Prospective students and families attended to learn about courses, facilities and training in the equine sector.
Staff and student ambassadors greeted arrivals. Programme Managers Alison Morris and Shelley Stuart led sessions on course options, entry requirements and applicant queries.
A campus tour covered accommodation, teaching spaces, a laboratory and rider performance hub. Visitors watched flatwork lessons, racehorses on gallops and farriery demonstrations, then visited the Breeding Unit.
Facilities incorporate science, technology and business management for equine careers. Jane Elliott, Head of Equine at Enniskillen, stated that students gain qualifications plus experience and confidence for roles in yards, training, sales, marketing or entrepreneurship.
Shelley Stuart noted that courses blend practical experience, academic learning and professional development, with facilities supporting industry skills. Student Ambassador Erin Reid described the facilities as strong and staff as friendly.
The event ended with talks from Residential Support, Student Support and Student Finance representatives on available aid. CAFRE provides further education courses for those with GCSEs or equivalents, plus foundation and honours degrees for A-level holders or equivalents, in full-time, part-time or online formats. Applications opened for September 2026 starts.
