Bangor Castle grounds in Ards and North Down will host filming for the 49th series of BBC One's Antiques Roadshow on Sunday 26 July. Presenter Fiona Bruce will lead the event, joined by expert valuers.

The public can bring antiques, family heirlooms and collectables for appraisal. Items include jewellery, silver, ceramics, glass, pictures, rare books, clocks, watches, militaria, vintage fashion, furniture, film and music memorabilia.

Fiona Bruce noted that the programme features a wide range of objects each year, with valuations that often surprise, alongside familiar categories like diamond jewellery and fine china. She added that the team enjoys hearing personal stories from visitors at venues across the UK.

Series Editor Robert Murphy stated the roadshow welcomes items of personal significance to attendees. He listed past examples such as Picasso ceramics, Jack Vettriano paintings, a pigeon gallantry medal, an Oasis demo tape, a John Lennon cartoon, Dylan Thomas letters, gold sovereigns, Omega and Patek Philippe watches, a ballerina brooch valued at £40,000 to £50,000, and SAS founder items.

Mayor of Ards and North Down Councillor Gillian McCollum said the council looks forward to hosting the event, allowing locals and visitors to present treasured items at the site.

Free tickets are available now in limited numbers. Applications can be made online, with options to submit items digitally for review.
