The BBC One programme Antiques Roadshow will film at Bangor Castle in the Ards and North Down borough on Sunday, July 26. The event forms part of the show's 49th series.

Local residents can bring antiques, family heirlooms and vintage items to share with specialists. Categories include jewellery, silver, ceramics, glass, pictures, rare books, clocks, watches and militaria. Collectables cover vintage fashion, furniture, film and music memorabilia.

Mayor Gillian McCollum said the event offers local people and visitors a chance to showcase treasured items in the castle setting. She noted Bangor's community and heritage and anticipated stories from the items.

Free tickets are available with limited places. Applications are open now. People can also submit items online for consideration through the show's website.
