Bishop Pat Storey of the Church of Ireland's Meath and Kildare dioceses announced her retirement on March 18. She plans to step down this summer after twelve years in the role.

Storey expressed enjoyment of her ministry in Meath and Kildare. She described the decision to retire as the right time and noted the difficulty of leaving the area.

Before her 2013 election as bishop, Storey served as rector of St Augustine's in Derry. Her consecration marked her as the first woman appointed bishop in Ireland or Britain.

The Diocesan Council of Meath and Kildare thanked Storey for her service. They highlighted initiatives she led, including a mental health awareness project called MindMatters.

The council noted her work as president of the Church of Ireland Youth Department. They also cited diocesan partnerships with international aid agencies such as Good for the Sole and Building Hope Brick by Brick.
