Niamh Kavanagh Named as Victim in Fatal Fermanagh Road Collision
A two-vehicle collision on Marble Arch Road in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, claimed the life of 34-year-old Niamh Kavanagh on 17 March. Police received a report of the incident at 9.55pm. The crash involved a Toyota Yaris and a Volkswagen Amarok.
Ms Kavanagh, originally from Galway and living in Bundoran, Co Donegal, was the driver of the Toyota Yaris. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite attendance by the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
The Collision Investigation Unit continues to examine the circumstances. Officers closed the road between New Line Road and Bog Road for a period after the crash. It has since reopened.
Police urge witnesses or those with dash-cam or digital footage to contact them on 101, quoting reference 1735 of 17/03/26.
Ulster Unionist MLA Diana Armstrong expressed sadness over the death. She noted a distressing period on local roads and called for extra care by drivers.
Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP Pat Cullen called the news terribly sad and extended thoughts to Ms Kavanagh's family and friends, plus emergency services.
DUP MLA Deborah Erskine described the incident as devastating news. Sinn Féin MLA Jemma Dolan offered thoughts to the family, others involved, and emergency responders.
