Police have arrested a 42-year-old man following an assault on Main Street in Portglenone. The incident occurred around 10pm on Saturday, 14 March. A member of the public reported seeing a male punch a female to the head and face before forcing her into a black Nissan Qashqai.

The man faces suspicion of false imprisonment, common assault, and taking a motor vehicle without authority. He remains in custody.

Detectives seek witnesses who saw the event or attempted to intervene. They request CCTV, dashcam, or other video footage from the area.
