Man Given Police Lift from Hospital Later Assaulted Officers on Obins Street
A man who had been driven home from hospital by police was later found drunk and shirtless on a Portadown street where he assaulted two officers, a court has heard.
The court was told that police had given the man a lift back to Portadown after he had visited his ill mother in hospital. Later that day, he was located on Obins Street intoxicated and without a top.
During the encounter, the man kicked one officer in the head and punched another in the nose. Details of any injuries were not disclosed in the hearing.
The case was heard at the local magistrates’ court. No further details of charges or pleas were immediately available.
