Portglenone Man Charged with Meat Cleaver Possession and Drug Offence
Connor McCarte, 43, of Gortaheran Crescent in Portglenone, faces multiple charges stemming from incidents in the Garvaghy Grove area of the town.
Police charged him with possession of a meat cleaver on February 24. The incident occurred at 2am. A police officer stated McCarte was under the influence of drugs at the time.
McCarte also faces a charge of possessing suspected methamphetamine on the same date.
He is accused of harassing a woman from October 27 last year to February 24 this year.
McCarte appeared via video link from prison at Antrim Magistrates Court, which sat in Ballymena on Tuesday. The police officer did not oppose bail with conditions.
The court granted bail of £500 to an address in Ballymena. The case returns on April 14.
