Portglenone man denies assault and weapons charges
A Co Antrim man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman and carrying an offensive weapon.
Connor McCarte, 43, of Gortaheran Crescent, Portglenone, appeared at court on Tuesday.
He faces charges of assaulting a female, possessing a meat cleaver as an offensive weapon in the Garvaghy Grove area of Portglenone on February 24, and possessing suspected methamphetamine.
McCarte is also charged with harassing the woman between October 27, 2025 and February 24.
The case was adjourned to June 9 to set a contest date.
He was previously granted bail of £500 to an address in Ballymena.
