Cirdan Imaging Plans £12.9m Upgrade and 72 Jobs in Lisburn
Cirdan Imaging plans a £12.9 million investment in its Vision-Path project to update its laboratory information system and add 72 jobs in Lisburn. The First Minister, deputy First Minister and Economy Minister announced the plan. The upgrades include new features to boost efficiency. The company will grow its sales and technical teams.
New roles cover Clinical Laboratory Analysts, Project Managers, Integration Managers, Instrumentation Engineers, AI Engineers and Software Engineers. Hiring will proceed gradually through 2028. First Minister Michelle O’Neill noted the plan supports the Life and Health Sciences sector with local jobs. Deputy First Minister Emma Little Pengelly stated it builds on Northern Ireland skills for global markets.
Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald said the effort advances growth through research, training, AI and photonics. Cirdan CEO Hugh Cormican indicated the changes tackle market competition and aid sales growth in the UK, Australia and new regions including North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Invest NI provides £1.9 million in aid, covering 10 jobs at an average salary of £70,500, skills training and research that supports 26 roles. Part of the research funding comes from the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund. Alison Currie, Chief Development Officer at Invest NI, said the support aids sector innovation.
