Fivemiletown College held its 65th anniversary celebration on 21 February at The Valley Hotel. Past and present school community members attended the Blue Sapphire Ball.

The event featured displays of school items, including handwritten registers from 1960 and photographs of current staff and pupils.

Principal Janice Allen opened the evening with a speech on the school's history and community involvement. A video presentation followed her address.

Beverley Weir, a former pupil, teacher, vice-principal and parent, delivered the keynote speech. She discussed changes at the school and relationships formed there.

Iain Lendrum, chair of governors and former pupil, gave the closing remarks. He addressed the school's future based on governance, community support and history.

Twenty-seven past head boys and head girls from various years attended the event.
