Students from Fivemiletown College reached the final stage of the Young Enterprise NI awards, known as YEA26. Their company, Emotion Commotion, is one of six from schools across Northern Ireland.

The team won a regional competition by presenting their business idea to judges and an audience at Queen’s University Belfast Business School earlier this month.

Emotion Commotion consists of a card game that encourages conversation, raises emotional awareness and promotes positive interactions.

The students began the project in September. They handled prototype design and local market research.

Janice Allen, principal of Fivemiletown College, stated the students showed imagination, resilience and purpose in turning their idea into a product with educational and social value.

Winners will receive awards at a ceremony in Belfast City Hall in April.
