Fermanagh Primary Pupils Showcase Projects in Shared Education Assembly
Pupils from two Fermanagh primary schools took part in a parents assembly to display projects completed over the year. The projects included self-portraits, memory boxes and family tree models. The event took place as part of the PEACEPLUS ASPIRE programme led by the Education Authority alongside Léargas, Early Years, National Childhood Network and Fermanagh Trust.
The pupils performed a song about friendship. They shared that everyone can belong in more than one place and that friendship keeps growing. The assembly aimed to highlight connections between the school communities.
Parents noted their children enjoyed working with peers from the partner school. Pupils reconnected with friends from the previous year. Staff from both schools pointed to the pupils' creativity, confidence and enthusiasm.
One parent stated her daughter enjoyed visiting the other school to see friends and praised the school dinners there. The schools described the assembly as an example of Shared Education benefits in the community.
PEACEPLUS is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. The programme provides direct contact between children and young people from all backgrounds.
