St Patrick's Day Events Scheduled Across Antrim and Armagh
Armagh City will host the Home of St Patrick Festival from 10 to 18 March 2026. The event includes guided walks, family activities, comedy, discussions and performances at sites such as Navan Fort and The Market Place Theatre. An open-air concert takes place on 16 March in Market Square with The Tumbling Paddies, Wolfhound and The Reillys. Brian Finnegan and friends perform on 14 March at St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral.
Armagh maintains two cathedrals dedicated to St Patrick and serves as the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland. Alderman Stephen Moutray, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, noted the city's historical links to the saint and stated that the festival supports local businesses by attracting visitors.
A climb occurs at Slemish Mountain in County Antrim on 17 March. The route spans 1.5 kilometres and requires about one hour. Legend holds that St Patrick tended sheep there. Organisers provide family entertainment including a petting farm, face painting, walkabout characters, traditional Irish music and dancing. Park and ride services run from the Silverwood and Michelin site in Broughshane starting at 9am. The Executive Office funds the event through its Together: Building a United Community programme. No parking allows near the site.
Lurgan in County Armagh holds a parade starting at 11am on 17 March from Clan na Gael GAA pitch on Francis Street to Market Street. Town centre activities feature live music, arts, crafts, face painting, a petting farm, inflatables and funfair rides. No parking permits on Francis Street.
