Police arrested an 18-year-old man after a pursuit in Ballymena on Friday, 27 February. Officers from Road Policing Interceptors at Sprucefield tried to stop a silver BMW on Cushendall Road due to poor driving.

The driver sped away, leading officers out of town toward Newtown-Crommelin. The vehicle left the road and stopped in a field. The driver then ran on foot across nearby fields.

A search involving Road Policing Interceptors, Ballymena Local Policing Team, and Air Support Unit located the man at a nearby address shortly after.

He faces charges of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, and possessing a Class B controlled drug. He will appear in a local court.
