Punk photography exhibition opens at Oh Yeah Music Centre
An exhibition of photographs documenting 50 years of punk in Northern Ireland opens on Thursday at the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast.
Alter Your Native Land: Punk in the North 1976-2026 features photographs taken and hand-printed by Stuart Bailie, a music journalist and co-founder of the venue.
The exhibition includes images of early punk acts such as RUDI, The Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers and The Outcasts. It also covers later bands including Therapy? and Ash, and newer artists such as Chalk, Problem Patterns, Tramp, Mucker and Éabha.
A launch event will take place from 8pm to 11pm on Thursday evening. It will feature live performances by Brian Young, Tramp and Éabha. DJ sets are planned by Terri Hooley and Stuart Bailie.
A fanzine tied to the exhibition will be released at the event. This is Bailie's fourth solo photography exhibition.
