A free health and wellbeing event for men will take place at the Foyle Arena in Derry/Londonderry on Thursday 19 November 2026. The event, titled 'Celebrating Men', is being held to mark International Men's Day and runs from 1:30pm to 4:00pm.

No booking is required and refreshments will be available. The venue has been provided by Derry City and Strabane District Council.

The event has been organised by the Men's Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Group. The group includes representatives from the Western Health and Social Care Trust, Derry City and Strabane District Council, Omagh & Fermanagh Council, Causeway and Glens Councils, and various statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Claire Kerr, Adult Mental Health Lead Nurse and chair of the group, said the event is an important initiative that brings together professionals and volunteers who support people with mental health issues across the north west region. She said the group will arrange further events across the Western Trust area in the coming months.

The group's joint vice chairs, Gary Rutherford of ARC Fitness and Nuala Campbell, Towards Zero Suicide Service Improvement Manager at the Western Trust, said the event aims to provide support for men struggling with mental health issues. They highlighted existing options such as Men's Sheds, support groups and fitness activities that help tackle stigma and social isolation.

The event will offer information and access to support for mental health, suicide prevention, addiction and self-harm.
