The Western Health and Social Care Trust will host information events for people supporting adults with mental illness. The sessions target family members and carers seeking details on available services.

Roger Johnston, interim service manager for supported living and professional social worker in the adult mental health team, stated the events aim to connect supporters with local resources. Organizations will set up stands to share support options in the area.

Brian Toner, service user consultant for adult mental health services, noted carers need physical and mental support themselves. Free health checks by a pharmacist or healthcare provider will occur at the events. Mental health team staff from the Western Trust will explain service access.

No booking required for the informal drop-in format. Attendees can arrive anytime, enjoy tea or coffee, and gather information. All welcome.

Events include Foyle Arena in Derry on Thursday April 23 from 2pm to 4pm, Omagh Leisure Centre on Tuesday March 24 from 11am to 1pm, and Fermanagh House on Tuesday March 31 from 11am to 1pm.
