The Department for the Economy has launched a public appointments competition to recruit new members to the board of Tourism Northern Ireland.

The competition is open to people from all backgrounds and no specific academic qualifications are required. The department said it particularly welcomes applications from women, people with disabilities, members of minority ethnic communities and young people, as these groups are currently underrepresented on such boards. A guaranteed interview scheme is available for applicants with disabilities.

The Tourism Northern Ireland board is responsible for ensuring the organisation meets its objectives set by the department and the minister, and for promoting the efficient use of resources.

Applications must be submitted by noon on 14 August 2026. Successful candidates will begin three-year terms on 30 November 2026. Appointments are made on merit through an open application and interview process.
