Students from Regent House in Newtownards took part in the Irish Schools’ Championships, competing in a range of track and field events.

In the senior girls’ 100m hurdles, Gabby Scates and Clara McKay represented the school. McKay also competed in the triple jump. The senior boys’ 4x100m relay team included Jack Bright, Finn McClean, Stephen Kelly and Harrison Jamison, with Jamison also running the 400m.

The intermediate girls’ squad saw Isla Henry compete in the 100m and as part of the 4x100m relay team alongside Eva Patton, Katie Johnston and Sara Devany. Devany also took part in the 80m and 300m hurdles.

Field events featured Erin Coard in the intermediate girls’ hammer and shot put, while Harry Palmer competed in the intermediate boys’ discus. Bella Hawkins and Isla Bailie lined up in the minor girls’ 75m hurdles, and Tilly Hunniford ran in the junior girls’ 75m hurdles.

The championships brought together young athletes from across Ireland.
