The Ulster Schools Cross Country Championship Final took place on Wednesday at the City of Belfast Playing Fields in Mallusk, Northern Ireland. Sleet and snow affected conditions on a course with heavy, mucky and frozen sections. The course was adjusted for safety by omitting a hill damaged by prior rain. Top 15 finishers qualified for the All-Ireland Schools final.

In the Mini Boys race, Harry McVeigh of St Malachy’s High School and Newcastle AC won by 16 seconds ahead of second place.

St Colman’s College, Newry, won the Minor Boys team event. Harry King of St Malachy’s High School finished 32nd after a late call-up due to a teammate's illness. Senan Gosling of Newcastle AC contributed to St Colman’s team success.

Mary Houston of Hunterhouse College and Newcastle AC placed 16th in the girls race, missing All-Ireland qualification. Hermione Sheridan of Assumption Grammar School finished 13th in the Intermediate Girls 3200m race, qualifying for the All-Ireland final.

Danny O’Connor of St Colman’s College won the Junior Boys 3200m race. Connaire Óg McVeigh of St Malachy’s High School placed eighth, also qualifying for the All-Ireland final on March 7 at Mallusk.

Jamie O’Flaherty of Shimna College and Newcastle AC finished 25th in the Intermediate Boys 4600m race from over 100 competitors.
