A schoolgirl was taken to hospital following a collision involving multiple vehicles near Markethill High School in County Armagh on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services, including the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance, were called to Mowhan Road shortly after 2.30pm. Police said a car had collided with two parked vehicles, and that the girl had been inside one of the parked cars at the time of the crash. Her condition remains unknown.

Witnesses initially reported that four vehicles were involved in the incident. The road was closed in both directions while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
