A fire broke out at Ballinamallard United FC clubhouse at Ferney Park on Saturday afternoon.

Five Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service appliances attended the scene.

The blaze caused major internal damage to walls, ceilings and the main clubroom.

Televisions melted from the walls and memorabilia was destroyed.

No injuries were reported.

The facility will remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future.

Tom Elliott, club chairperson, stated that events scheduled at the venue will be postponed and noted a significant loss of income.

Crusaders have offered a pre-season fundraiser at Seaview.

Support from other clubs, organisations, businesses and individuals has been received.

DUP MLA Deborah Erskine offered solidarity to the club and thanked emergency services.
