Food Heartland Producers Highlighted at Lurgan Show
A selection of local food and drink producers from the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon borough presented their products at the annual Lurgan Show. The council’s Food Heartland initiative hosted a stand featuring six businesses: Burren Balsamics Vinegars, Long Meadow Cider, Jackson Roze, Appletree Farm, Richmount Health Foods, and Ballydown Milk.
Visitors to the stand had the chance to meet the producers, taste samples, and hear about the methods behind the goods. Lord Mayor Councillor Mary O’Dowd toured the display and also visited livestock exhibitors during the event.
Councillor O’Dowd stated that the show highlighted the strength and diversity of the borough’s rural and food sectors, and provided a family-friendly day out. She noted the involvement of cattle, sheep, and poultry exhibitors alongside the food producers.
The council said it continues to back local producers through Food Heartland, aiming to assist business growth and promote the area as a food tourism destination.
