A new initiative to strengthen the creative and artisan food sectors has been launched by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

The Makers Support Forum will bring together makers, creatives, and artisan food producers from across the borough to share expertise, build networks, and develop business skills. It forms part of the council’s wider Makers Support Programme.

Lord Mayor Councillor Mary O’Dowd described the creative and artisan food sectors as vital to the local economy and central to the borough’s identity. She said the forum would provide a platform for collaboration, peer support, and learning, helping participants build confidence and overcome challenges.

The forum will be delivered through four themed workshops, each combining expert-led sessions, practical advice, and networking opportunities. The workshops will take place at Portadown Town Hall, The Market Place Theatre in Armagh, Banbridge Town Hall, and Lurgan Town Hall. All sessions run from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.

Registration is available by contacting the council’s town centre team. Participants can also access tailored mentoring through the Go Succeed programme and take part in pop-up retail events across the borough.

The council said the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and helping local businesses realise their potential.
