A 21-year-old man has been sent for trial at Derry Crown Court accused of escaping from lawful custody.

Frankie Lynn, of Rockmills, appeared at the local Magistrates' Court for a preliminary enquiry on the charge.

The alleged escape occurred on 27 June 2025.

The court heard there was a case to answer, and no contrary submissions were made.

Lynn declined to call witnesses or make a statement at this stage.

He was returned for trial on 2 July.
