Women complete skills training at Ballymena veterans premises
Eleven women have completed a 10-week training programme that combined classroom instruction with on-site work at The Veterans Support Group Ballymena.
The Mid and East Antrim Labour Market Partnership organised the course, which formed part of its 2025/26 Action Plan.
Participants carried out painting, panelling, shelving and wallpapering at the group's new Church Street premises.
The training was delivered by Building It Better NI and funded by the Department for Communities.
Mayor Jackson Minford said the decision to work in an operational building rather than temporary structures allowed participants to develop practical problem-solving skills.
He added that the completed work had created a welcoming environment for local veterans to socialise and receive therapy.
The Labour Market Partnership runs targeted employment schemes across council areas to help people move towards and into work.
