The Department for Infrastructure has completed remarking of the mini-roundabouts at the junctions of Elmwood Terrace, Westland Street and Laburnum Terrace in Derry.

Sinn Féin Councillor Aisling Hutton said she requested the work last year after residents and motorists reported that worn markings caused drivers to miss the roundabouts and travel straight through.

She stated the junction is dangerous and that some drivers enter the roundabouts above the speed limit.

Hutton said the new markings should improve safety for motorists and pedestrians and encourage drivers to slow down.

She thanked the Department for Infrastructure and advised motorists unfamiliar with the markings to proceed with care.
