A Sinn Féin councillor in Derry has called for an external cycle maintenance scheme in Bogside areas. Councillor Hutton made the request after residents and businesses raised concerns about the need for a general clean-up.

Hutton reported meeting with the Housing Executive to discuss plans. The proposed work includes removing graffiti, repainting metal railings, and power washing walkways.

The councillor noted that the area serves as a busy tourist spot where visitors come to learn about the city's history. Hutton aims to secure funding and lobby agencies to carry out the maintenance.
