A High Court judge in Northern Ireland overturned a £300,000 damages award to Neil and Donna Sands, a couple from Co Antrim, in their legal action against Tattle Life founder Sebastian Bond.

The couple had received £150,000 each plus legal costs in December 2023. They claimed harassment, invasion of privacy, defamation, and breach of data rights by site users.

Justice Humphreys ruled on Tuesday that the couple failed to properly serve the writ. The judge also lifted an order freezing £1.8 million in Bond's worldwide assets.

Bond challenged the original ruling, citing failures to make full disclosures during court appeals and issues with writ service.

Sebastian Bond was identified publicly as the site's founder in June after reporting restrictions ended.

Tattle Life operates as an online forum with message boards on celebrities and influencers.

Earlier this year, the couple's solicitor accepted that prior evidence was incomplete. The solicitor noted that information about Bond should have been disclosed sooner, leading to an apology.

The Sands stated they are reviewing the detailed technical judgment before deciding next steps. They emphasized the case sought accountability for online abuse victims and exposure of those hiding responsibility.
